Iconic Italian brand Dainese, a leading manufacturer of protective wear and technical gear for the motorcycling, cycling, winter sports, equestrian and sailing sport sectors, has chosen Elastic’s digital merchandising platform. The Elastic rollout will replace the company’s existing in-house B2B solution and represents a major upgrade to create a more collaborative merchandising capability for Dainese sales reps and retail partners.
The implementation will extend to company stores, specialty retailer locations and consumer ecommerce channels throughout the brand’s global regions of the EU, North America and Asia. All Dainese-branded protective wear, technical gear and apparel product lines for multiple dynamic sports categories, as well as the company’s AGV-branded motorcycle helmet product lines, will be supported by the Elastic platform. A key benefit of the deployment will be the use of Elastic’s digital custom catalog builder to assist Dainese in eliminating the annual printing of more than 100,000 product catalogs associated with these various product lines.
“We selected Elastic as our B2B ecommerce technology partner not only to help us create a more collaborative merchandising process for our sales reps and retailers, but because of the their leadership in providing solutions that promote sustainable business practices. The greater efficiency of Elastic’s digital merchandising platform will also provide cost savings and a virtual sales capability, both of which are important elements of our business strategy in response to the current challenging market conditions.”
-Luca Menegardo, CIO, Dainese
In addition to sustainability benefits, Elastic helps manufacturers, retailers and distributors achieve efficiency-driven cost savings and incremental sales growth. Cost savings come through streamlined order entry, digital catalogs, eliminating printed sales materials, resource optimization, inventory management, online payment functionality and product sample reduction. Increased sales revenues come through brand-specific retailer/dealer applications, sales rep tools, strategic sales planning, digital merchandising, product customization, managing complex pricing incentive programs, assortment planning tools, history-driven selling, strengthening brand equity, segmented sales capability, increased client acquisition/retention and enhanced product presentations.
“To serve such an iconic European brand like Dainese, and help them further their leadership in promoting safety through their innovative protective wear within the motorcycling and other dynamic sports sectors, is an incredible opportunity for the entire Elastic team. We fully expect the transition to our industry-leading B2B ecommerce and digital merchandising platform will help Dainese boost incremental sales through more curated line presentations and by helping create the collaborative sales process they are seeking.”
